RipAir reveal its new rescue parachute for multirotor drones

Already well-known in the paragliding world, the company from Annecy (France) spent several months to develop this new parachute for multirotors drones. RipAir claims the paprachute to be certified by the DGAC (Direction Générale de l'Aviation Civile), the equivalent of the FAA in the USA.

The parachute is available in two sizes : S and M. The S size weighs 45g and will best fit a drone with an All Up Weight of 2,5kg maximum. It will cost 230€.

The M size will be best used on drones between 2,5kg and 4kg AUW. It weighs 65g and cost 245€

The weight of these chutes are interesting. Less than other parachutes manufacturers MARS and Opale for an equivalent size. However, these parachutes does not come with an ejection system. These parachutes are a bit more expensive than Opale's and MARS' parachutes.

We contacted RipAir to learn more about these parachutes and we will keep you informed about the availability dates and further testing.
